Automotive Lubricants

Automotive lubricants are a result of a mixture of lubricating oils used for multiple purposes in vehicles. Generally, there are four automotive lubricants which are used commonly in all modern vehicles. Automotive lubricants are used by almost all kinds of vehicles for friction-free engine performance in all seasons.

Following are a few types of most commonly used automotive lubricants;

Synthetic Lubricants

Synthetic lubricant is a moisture-free lubricant with quite a few applications. Its moisture-free feature makes it eminent in keeping the area grease and dirt free. Leaving the surface of the applied area clean and non-greasy. Synthetic lubricant is mostly used in trucks and cars. This uniquely formulated lubricant enhances the performance of pivot parts such as gears. Makes the functioning more smoother, hence giving a better driving experience.

Organic Lubricants

Organic lubricants are created from reprocessed petroleum. Not only are they heat resistant, but can also bear tears and wear. The ingredients of organic lubricants are usually procured from natural gas, crude oil, diesel, and crude coal.

Organic lubricants are a convenient choice for high-performance applications. Its application lasts much longer than any other lubricant.

Tribology Compound

Tribology compound is another form of automotive lubricant which is derived from chalk, talc, and seaweed. It is majorly used to avoid friction during high performances for heavy engines.

This kind of lubricant contains silicone which remains slippery. Moreover, its most prominent feature is its lower melting point.

Benefits of Automotive Lubricants

Automotive lubricants are mainly used for smoother engine operation, making the moving parts function better; following are the few benefits obtained by using lubricants;

  • lengthens the durability and life of an engine
  • Reduces the maintenance costs
  • reduces the consumption of oil

Avoids metal fatigue
